Who is our Volunteer partner?
The mission of READI (Rural Empowerment And Development Initiative) Nepal is to change the way that travel impacts the local communities of the Himalayas. They engage and support local community projects to improve Education, Health, Agriculture, Trail Building and Tourism Infrastructure Development.
READI uses the funds it raises by running trips in Nepal to empower people by education, raising awareness, sharing knowledge & on-the-job training. At the community level, READI mobilizes local communities to enhance its people’s skill level though (technical) training, communication and computer education in Nepal.
When volunteering with READI, volunteers have the opportunity to engage with local primary school of the village, teach English , and spend time playing music playing sports, and story telling to school children. Volunteers will also have the chance to spend time with village residents to learn about their way of life and assist in any needs the village may have at the time as well as participate in knowledge sharing.
READI and The Vacation Project share similar principals of economic and environmental sustainability to action long lasting tangible change in local communities. This is one of the many reasons that makes them our valued partner. We know you will feel the same after working with them!
